"Sir Buckner, we salute you!"

We are so proud of Buckner! Just this week, (at the old age of 2 years and 1 month) he decided it was time to stop messing around by squatting to pee and lifted his leg up high to unleash his bladder. I know that you without a pet may think this is a somewhat trivial post but dangit, I was proud of our furry friend.
"GOOD FOR YOU BUCK!," I said.
I was so proud. I hung my head up high when walking him. (whereas, I usually would hide behind a bush while he was squatting at the park near the other dogs)
Some say it is a sign of maturity and usually happens within the first year of a dogs life, if at all. Whatever the case, "PEE ON my little BUCK, PEE ON!"

What Happened the Year You Were Born?

"Your walk talks more than your talk talks..."

Aubrey loves to walk! She loves to walk on different textures(grass, dirt, snow), up and down steps...she loves to walk everywhere. We were walking in front of our house and she would go until I turned her around and then she would just keep going in the direction I faced her. It is fun to watch the progression.

When these pictures were taken, Aubrey was with her Dad and Grandad at the Alpine Golf Course enjoying a beautiful Saturday evening.

I don't know how this started but I think it is pretty cute, when Aubrey is doing it anyway.

2 years and counting

Today marks our 2 year anniversary of marriage. I created a slide show to reflect on our journey from when we first started dating to the present.

Aubrey is officially 1 year old now!

She took her first steps on Groundhog Day but just recently has walked more gracefully. Check it out...

oh, the sweetest thing...

I was feeding Aubrey the other night, trying to get her to go to sleep. She was sleepy but didn't want her bottle OR mommy. She reached for her daddy, laid next to him and fell fast asleep. It was sweet to see them both so peaceful.

Giving "Hope" to a new generation

I have found myself in this new demographic of people in the sense that I am now a consumer of little girl's toys. I love how things that were popular in the mid-80's, like my little pony, stawberry shortcake and care bears, are popular once again. I find myself (like other young mothers) seeking to let my daughter experience some of the things I once loved, such as my faithful cabbage patch doll named "Hope".



I am glad to pass my beloved doll down to Aubrey (although I guess it isn't official because I can't seem to find Hope's birth certificate)
Anyway, all of these memories of my love for toys come back to me as I am on the prowl for dolls, books, toys, gadgets, ect., to entertain my young one.

First of all I would like to put a picture of Buck at the top here, just to give him a little recognition. I know he has been a little neglected on this blog since Aubrey came along. Buck is doing great. Not much to say except that he will be 2 years old next month and is wonderful! We couldn't ask for a better dog. He is always so loving and has been even keel and well mannered.



Last night, Aubrey kept leaning into the ottoman to get a toys and I thought she may have fun playing inside the ottoman. I guess she liked it because she got back in it twice.

Also, it has been neat to see Aubrey go through a new stage of maturity. She will now just chill out with her dad or sit on mommy's lap to read a book and not fidget. Yep she is growing fast.

Alyse hung out with me and Aubrey 3 days last week and we had a lot of fun. They are pretty cute individually but extremely cute together. Here are some pics and a video from the fun time had.

Lately Aubrey has been smiling as big as possible and it is pretty funny to watch. I think what makes it even cuter is that she does it at the most random times. She will be eating or doing something routine and just look up and get her cheeze on.
