Aubrey's First January

Well, I thought I would get in the swing of posting on our blog again. We had a wonderful holiday season, full of fun and family.

Alyse hung out with me and Aubrey 3 days last week and we had a lot of fun. They are pretty cute individually but extremely cute together. Here are some pics and a video from the fun time had.

Here are a couple of pictures from the ARC party we had last week. Aubrey didn't care for Santa much, but she sure loved on her great, great, great Aunt Jean and Daddy.

Lately Aubrey has been smiling as big as possible and it is pretty funny to watch. I think what makes it even cuter is that she does it at the most random times. She will be eating or doing something routine and just look up and get her cheeze on.

Thankful for family

We had a great time over the Thanksgiving holiday. We upgraded Aubrey's car seat just before we cruised up to Pitkin and we are glad because she really enjoyed her comfortable ride. Colorado was very beautiful (as always) and it was cool to take the trip with the Silverthornes, Busseys and Robertsons. Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasures:

It doesn't take much

27 is Heaven

Drew and I celebrated our birthday this past Wednesday, marking 27 years of being alive outside of the womb. We have managed to spend all of our b-days together except our sweet 16th. Aaron, Marshall, Heather, Charlotte, Drew, Alyse, Bryan and I had a good time at Johnny Carino's and then we moseyed over to the Allen's for a little cake, icecream and fun.


I really feel like I had a whole week of celebration because Beth, Laura and Vanessa took me out the Friday before my b-day to celebrate and Bryan, Darrell, Debbie, Angie, Renee' and Granny celebrated with me the Saturday after my b-day. I am so blessed to have such loving family and friends. Thank you guys!

All up in my crib

She can finally stand on her own two feet!
Just in the past couple of days, Aubrey has been pulling herself up so she could stand with the support of the couch and in her crib. We actually had to lower the bed in her crib so she couldn't climb out.

Say my name, say my name...

As of this past week, Aubrey is 8 months old. She is getting so big. She is a little over 18 lbs. now and is getting so tall. Her newest thing to say is "Da-da." Her newest gesture to make is shaking her head no. She can say "bye-bye" and wave, which is something she likes to do a lot. She will also say "BU" when she sees BUCK. She hasn't got the CK sound yet but she is working on that. And my favorite, "Ma-ma." AHH, like music to my ears! Here are a couple of recent pictures of her. I intend to post more of her (in her new duds that Nana bought for her) this week.

Back in the swing of things...

I just realized that I haven't posted a single thing this month. We have been a little "under the weather" so that is my excuse. I didn't think you all would like to see pictures of Aubrey with a runny nose, even though that is pretty cute.
This past Saturday, Bryan took Aubrey over to our little community park and took her for her first "real swing." She was tired even before she started swinging but Bryan said she enjoyed it none-the-less.


Meanwhile, the girls (Laura and Beth) and I went to a local fun-run called "Thundering Sneakers" in the hick town of Henderson Texas. I thought we were just going up there to take a casual 3 mile run. I was unaware that people had been practicing in advance for this thing. We had a good time though and plan to attend next year.

Another Aubrey Update

Aubrey had her "6 month" appointment which was actually 7 months exactly. The Dr. said that she is doing great! She is the average weight for her age and is a little above average in height. Here are some pictures of her progression.

Family Summit - Pitkin Trip

We had a short and sweet trip to Pitkin the week before last and had a good time. Aubrey did so well on this long trip. She can really sit up well now and I have noticed that she loves the attention...and she certainly gets enough of it when Mom, Dad, Grand-dad and Nana are around.

At 6 1/2 months, Aubrey seems to be right on track. It is really has been amazing to see her transition in just the past couple of weeks from rolling over, to sitting up without support, and now scooting on the floor. If you don't believe me, check out this picture and video.
