We were playing at the park this morning and an employee of the City of Longview came over and opened a fire hydrant to drain water for about 15 minutes. (The gentleman told us someone had complained about their water tasting a little funny) We seized the opportunity! Here are some pictures from our fun and random adventure. I treasured this 15 minutes.
It was fun explaining to Aubrey about fire hydrants and their availability to fire fighters and the Longview water supply where we get our water.

Pete wanted to use it as a water fountain.
NOTE: I am really happy with the quality of iPhone pictures.
How fun! I'm so glad you were there at just the right time to take advantage :) And she'll always remember what fire hydrants are. Great lesson!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had fun! I should call the city and complain and say that I think they need to drain the fire hydrants just a little bit more... and then come over and play too, lol!
